Terms of service

Last updated 25 October 2026

1. What we provide

We attend a physical address in mainland China and record what is observable from public areas and, where invited, from inside the premises. We deliver original photographs, unedited video, and a written report in English.

2. What we do not provide

We do not provide product quality inspection, conformity assessment, certification, legal advice, accounting advice, credit assessment, or any opinion on whether a supplier is suitable for your business. We do not verify ownership of premises, and we do not guarantee capacity, delivery performance, financial standing, or the accuracy of anything a supplier tells us.

3. Observations, not conclusions

Our reports contain observations. Where we record a discrepancy, it is a factual statement about what was seen or heard, not an allegation of wrongdoing. The interpretation of our report, and any commercial decision taken on the basis of it, is yours.

4. Access and refusal

We do not trespass. If we are refused entry or asked to leave, we comply and report that outcome. Refusal of access does not entitle you to a refund, because the refusal itself is a delivered result.

5. Fees and payment

Fees are fixed and quoted in writing before booking. Payment is by WeChat Pay or Alipay. Travel inside the belts listed on our Coverage page is included; travel outside those belts is quoted separately. Half the fee is due on booking and the balance before the report is released, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation more than 48 hours before the scheduled visit: full refund. Cancellation within 48 hours: 50% refund. If we cannot locate the address or the visit does not take place, you receive a full refund.

7. No commission

We accept no commission, rebate, referral fee, gift or hospitality from any supplier, inspection company, freight forwarder or certification body. Our only remuneration is the fee paid by the client. Any offer of such benefit is disclosed to the client in the report.

8. Confidentiality

We keep your identity, your order details and your report confidential. We will not disclose to a supplier who our client is beyond stating that we act for an overseas buyer. We may publish anonymised or fictionalised material for demonstration purposes, as on our Sample Report page.

9. Limitation of liability

Our liability arising from any engagement is limited to the fee paid for that engagement. We are not liable for commercial losses, lost profit, lost orders, or consequential loss of any kind.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent court at our place of business.
